Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome back to Ask a Doctor service!

Your cardiac ultrasound report shows just some mild changes due to chronic hypertension.

This means that it is important to keep monitoring your blood pressure values and make the proper dose adjustments to your drugs in order to help maintain normal blood pressure values.

Nothing serious is going on, but you should pay attention to your blood pressure values in order to stop the progression of such changes in the heart function and structure.

Hope you will find this information helpful!

Dr. XXXXXXX
I am a little disturbed today because I spoke to a cardiologist who advised me that he had a concern on the possibility of me having heart disease but you told me the report was nothing for me to worry about. He's very concerned with the mild decrease in global wall motion.........in 2018 I had the same test and it showed normal global wall motion. What do you make of all of this and what should I do now?? I'm very confused about all of this now.... should I have or is there a need for maybe a stress test or something else I should do to rule out any true problems?

Thanks,
doctor

Brief Answer:
I would recommend performing a cardiac stress echo.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

The mild decrease in global wall motion could be related to the the myocardial hypertrophy (caused by arterial hypertension) or to chronic ischemic changes of the heart.

For this reason, I would recommend performing a cardiac stress echo in order to examine better the cardiac function and structure, the wall motility during stress and the myocardial performance, and determine if there is presence or not of myocardial ischemia.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above test.

Hope you will find this information helpful!

I remain at your disposal in case of further questions whenever you need!

Dr. Iliri
