Question: I had a Schwannoma removed 2004 froml7mbar spinal nerve. Over past 6 months severe leg spasms mostly calf area or rught leg and numbness of ritgh calf area and 3 toes on left foot. Occasional spasms of both hands. Thoracic
nerve pain and tightness around back and ribs. Went to PCP sent to neurologist who did nothing but perform emg which showed poor conduction in legs. That was only area tested inspite of other problem areas (hands and back. I am 66 and was told by neurologist that if I had MS it would have been found years ago and that I was toooldfor that to be a problem. I have also had problems with concentrating and memory. I was RN for 46 years, but recently retired due tolack of confidence in my decision making process. Do you think I should accept above answer or seek futher testing?

Hello dear and Welcome to the ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There are many medical conditions related to your symptoms.
It can be neuropathy or peripheral artery disease.
You should also exclude diabetes.

I recommend doing an MRI for further evaluation. I also recommend checking glycemic level to exclude diabetes.
A neurological examination is also needed for specific evaluation and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards!
