Question : i am hypertensive for last 30 years. am 63 years old . take amlopre AT 50 Mg twice aday. reading now is 155/100. Please suggets.

For your age a BP of 150/90 is acceptable . So you have 155/100 which is slightly elevated from the target levels.

If your diet and exercise are going on good then you need an additional medication along with Amlopress AT. But if you are not doing proper diet or if you are not doing exercise regularly then do start it from today and recheck your BP after 1 months . If it is in the target level then no need for additional medication but if it is not then we may have to start an additional Medication.

i have very balanced diet, lot of fruits and food with very less of salt. can you suggest some additional medicine which should be taken with amlopres AT to keep it in levels.

I would recommend Tab Telmisartan 40mg . But do consult your doctor as you need to get tests like Serum Creatinine and Serum Potassium and if these are normal you can start the above mentioned medicine.
