Question : I am 82 years old and a benefactor of xxxxxx.....recently, I have experienced an onset of
apparently anxiety which leaves me with a severe headache, upper back tightness and feeling really down......about 30 years ago I had something somewhat similar which I treated unsuccessfully with a variety of anti-anxiety medications and finally just quit everything and it finally went away. Is there anything not addicting that I can get some relief from the constant headache and difficulty sleeping?

Brief Answer:
Tylenol for headache, benadryl and or melatonin for sleep
Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM. Please note that Tylenol is very effective for headaches. Ibuprofen can also be tried. However I believe Tylenol PM could be used before you go to sleep because it has those sedating properties that will help you sleep. Otherwise I would try Benadryl and all melatonin as these are more natural forms and less addicting drugs for your insomnia. Thank you and good luck and wishing you good health.
