Brief Answer:
Hello

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Patients with EDS usually start developing an allergy to many things as the disease progresses. This is due to the activation of Mast cells in the body. So as the disease progresses mast cells activation disorder develops in patients. Mast cells are responsible for the formation of antibodies associated with allergic disorders. IgE antibodies are secreted by mast cells that recognize harmless.

Ingested, airborne, or contact allergen as antigen and starts forming an antibody against it.

Tests suggested are-
24-hour urine collection to measure prostaglandin D2.
Serum tryptase and 24 hr urine histamine.

Were any of these tests done?

Follow up with reports.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you so much for your response...I believe a histamine test was done through blood work...none of the other tests done through urine analysis...I will have her suggest these tests to her allergist..also upon doing all these tests with no results she is thinking of doing a DNRS program {dynamic neural retraining system} are you familiar with this and what are your thoughts? thank you I look forward to hearing from you. Do you think this can heal the gut...we don't want to leave anything untreated but because there is nothing specific coming up...we are unsure of what to do and where to go...also she lives in nyc do you know of any specialists for eds...mass cell disorder..so on...we don"t know which direction to go anymore.

Follow up answer

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

DNRS program is basically a naturopathic healing procedure so frankly speaking it's not covered in my XXXXXXX and I don't have much clinical idea about it. You have to consult a naturopath for that.

Firstly get these tests done from your nearest center so that we could be sure if its mast cell activation syndrome or not.

24-hour urine collection to measure prostaglandin D2.

Serum tryptase and 24 hr urine histamine.

Naturopathy, Ayurvedic and homoeopathic all are various therapies and they have treated many patients successfully so keep your fingers crossed and give it a try.

Hope I have answered your query.

Don't give up.

Get well soon and blessings.
