Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain

default
Posted on Mon, 14 Nov 2016
Question: Hi doctor, I have had severe abdominal pain for the last 4 months. I have had 10 blood tests, stool test urine test 2 ultra sounds endoscopy and colonoscapy and 2 cat scans, the only thing to come out of all that was the first cat scan showed my small intestine was inflamed. I've also been suffering from palpitations, most nights I'm woken up with either extreme pain in my abdomen or with palpitations. I've suffered from stomach problems for about 18 months and this was wrote off to IBS, I've also had trouble with palpitations before, although only a hand full of times, but the last 4 months it has been constant so I now believe the last 18 months have all been linked. I'm worried that something is seriously wrong with me and no one can diagnose or give me any answers, if you can help in anyway Way it would be amazing, I want my life back, thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking on HCM!
I read carefully all your concerns and I can say as follows:
1. You are reporting to have had severe abdominal pain. Since has been detected in one Ct scan intestine inflammation I would recommend to do capsule endoscopy.
It is gold standard diagnostic approach test for small intestine issues.
2. Your symptoms may be related with :
- small intestine inflammation
- visceral hypersensitivity syndrome
3. Otherwise it would be great if you can send me your medical reports so I can check them by myself and give a more accurate opinion.
4. With regards to palpitations, may be related with :
- anxiety
- hormonal imbalance ( please check your thyroid function with T3 m T4 and TSH level)
- cardiac issues ( rarely)
This is why i suggest to discuss this issue with cardiologist.
Hope it was helpful to you.
