Question : I was noted that I have a benign mass in liver, it says that it’s likely FNH, but the words “hepatic mass” makes me fear I might have hepatitis and it also says I am anicteric after surgery, I was not feeling well so I didn’t ask much, anything would be helpful.

Brief Answer:
Observation in asymptomatic patients.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Focal nodular hyperplasia is the second most common benign tumor of the liver. It is believed to occur as a result of a localized liver cells response to an underlying congenital malformation (congenital for lay man). If it causes pain that is associated with the increase in size of the lesion, surgical resection can be done. However, if all liver functions are good with no pain nothing needs to be done.

I hope I was helpful.

Regards
