Question : My husband had a stroke last Sunday . They put him on eliquest 2xaday. He has been on then three days. Just noticed his hand looks brushed like a lite black and blue. Is this normal or should I head to the Er. I have a photo I can send
Brief Answer:
I would explain as follows
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Regarding your concern, I would explain that this is not a known adverse effect of Eliquis.
Have you measured his blood pressure values and heart rate?
Please, can you check his pulse on both hands?
Does he complain about anything (nausea, headache, hand pain)?
I would like to review that picture if you can upload It for a more professional opinion.
Has he started betablocker lately besides Eliquis? They could cause a similar adverse effect called Raynaud's phenomenon.
I remain at your disposal for any further questions!
Let me know about everything!
Wishing good health.
