Brief Answer:
Primary biliary cirrhosis causes slight pain but edema predominates.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. Primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC) causes significant edema in lower extremities. Pain normally does not occur and even if does then is mild. I would be in a better position to guide you further if you answer following questions please:

1. Is pain persistent or intermittent?
2. Does pain occur after doing some work or occurs even at rest?
3. Is overlying skin (of pain area) red & hot?
4. are you diabetic, hypertensive or having any other illness?
5. any history of recent trauma to leg area or back(spine)?
6. are you on any kind of medication?
7. any other symptom that you would like to share?

I will be looking forward for the answers to conclude the discussion in the best interest of yours.
Thank You
