What Causes Nausea, Vomiting, Extreme Abdomen And Back Pain, Cold Sweats And Chills?

Question: I have not felt well for 3 days. It started with nausea and vomiting, coupled with the onset of extreme belly and back pain. I stayed in bed yesterday and did not vomit, but the pain continues. It abates somewhat, but comes back with fury. I showered this a.m., quickly became nauseous, vomited (bile) and am again in intense pain radiating out from my belly button and the center of my back. Cold sweats and chills come and go. It does not feel like the flu. I have bipolar disorder and have been feeling well, but admit that I have been drinking too much alcohol, more than I ever have before.

Brief Answer:
Few tests should be done however if you have no insurance take medications.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Very likely its gastroenteritis, usually gastroenteritis is by viral infection (Nova virus) and is self-limiting. It takes five to seven days to resolve. In some cases, it can be either bacterial or protozoal infection or a mixed infection.

I would suggest you go for a few tests
-Ultrasound abdomen
-Stool test under the microscope
-Complete blood count
-Total and differential leucocyte count.

However, as you don't have insurance, start taking Zithromax (Azithromycin) and Secnidazole. For nausea and vomiting take Zofran. For pain again I would suggest you an antispasmodic like Dicyclomine with Omeprazole.

Eat light and easily digestible food. Take any over counter probiotic. Monitor pulse and blood pressure twice daily.

Hope I have answered your query.
