Both are autoimmune diseases and very difficult to deal with.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
In some patients, inflammatory bowel disease is seen associated with vasculitis and unfortunately your son is among one of them. Frankly speaking, all we can do is to treat ulcerative colitis and rule out the type of vasculitis he is suffering from.
Tests for certain antibodies like ANCA would be done. In some cases, vasculitis is auto immune in nature. IBD is also autoimmune in nature therefore all we can do at present is to continue UC medication and get him checked thoroughly for the type of vasculitis he is having.
I am sorry for his sickness, but be patient and may god bless him.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Three types of autoimmune vasculitis syndromes are associated with anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic auto antibodies (ANCAs), collectively, they're called ANCA-associated vasculitis.
Do this antibody test would help to rule out if the kid has
Microscopic polyangiitis (MPA) Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA). So that he can be treated accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thank you.
