Question : Hello, I have a medical issue that I can't keep going back to doctors for but need some insight. I've had strange bowel moments, and bleeding at times, yesterday I passed a long white 'string' from my anus that I had to pull out, and was attached to the stool. I went to the lab to get rested for parasites, and it came back negative. What could this be?

Brief Answer:
Can be undigested fibers.Keep a watch if it happens next time.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

As per your query, there are only two possibilities-
1) Parasitic infestation of the intestine - Would ask you to repeat test at another lab once again.
2) A very high fiber diet - Fibers remain undigested and are excreted into stools undigested. Hence, if a person is on high fiber diet, it may be possible that they could form strings.

Your bleeding may be due to piles so most likely you must be on a high fiber diet. A course of Albendazole anti-parasitic should be taken. Chew before going to bed.

Hope I was helpful.
