Brief Answer:
Systematic evaluation of cause is needful.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Infection gets relief with an antibiotic to which the causative bacteria is sensitive. In your case, there are tow possibilities:

1. the affecting bacteria are not sensitive to the antibiotics used... that's why the symptoms remain after using the antibiotics. There may also be insufficient duration of treatment, making the symptoms persist due to incomplete cure.

In case of UTI, a doctor's advise after physical examination is needful for getting relief, self medication may not give result. Choice of antibiotic, dosage of the antibiotic, duration of the course matter in total relief.
Sometimes culture & sensitivity test of urine is advised to confirm the infecting organism & the suitable antibiotics are tested in the same test.

2. Your symptoms might not be due to infection ...( like in urinary stones burning in urine is seen without any bacteria intervening ). To evaluate cause of symptoms is also important before treatment.

* In this scenario you need to consult your family physician for evaluating your basic problem & give suitable treatment OR refer you to urologist for specific advise.

I hope that answers your query. Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Some more information please.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

One negative urine culture report may change over the time....Bacteria may appear after a gap in urinary tract. ... so there is need to go for repeat culture &sensitivity in case examining doctor thinks so.
Again cause of urinary symptoms may be something apart from infection. Though confirmatory diagnosis needs physical check up &investigations as per need...I can try to give possible causes if provided with-
- Exact symptoms you have.
- Your age, alcohol intake if any.
- Any other health problems you have at present and in past.
- Any medications you are taking.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Continue with Amoxicillin & side by side consult expert

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have gathered that your symptoms are mainly heaviness in bladder, burning on urination, pain in front and back in lower parts, occasional urinary incontinence (leakage) and now I feel-the symptoms are due to urinary bladder problem or pelvic inflammation. It can be:

- Bladder infection by bacteria (resistant to or not sufficiently treated by the antibiotics taken) / Virus

- Fungus infection of genitals - (which could be accompanied by fungal vaginal infection- associated with itching and burning, soreness of urethral opening urination and may be pelvic inflammation causing the heaviness

- It can be chronic inflammation of bladder wall (Interstitial cystitis) causing the symptoms with incomplete voiding of urine and residual urine in blabber to cause heaviness and occasional leakage of urine.

* In the light of above possibilities you would understand how important it is to get through physical examination and needful investigations done to find the basic cause followed by specific treatment.

- You can continue with Amoxicillin and consult a gynecologist (to exclude / find vaginal & pelvic inflammation and get needful treatment) / urologist for detailed examination of bladder followed by specific treatment.

I hope that helps you. Any other information you need please do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks.
