Chronic infection of the gut.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Most likely its gastroenteritis, usually gastroenteritis is by viral infection and is self-limiting. Takes five to seven days, But as you mentioned its already more than a month so most likely you are having either bacterial or protozoal infection or a mixed infection which is recurrent again and again.
I would suggest you go for a few tests:
Ultra sound abdomen
Stool test under the microscope
Complete blood count
Total and differential leucocyte count.
If the stool test is positive for bacterial or protozoal infection, you may start taking prescription based antibiotics such as Azithromycin 500 mg once daily and Secnidazole for 5days. Along with it take Fybrogel husk, It will increase the bulk of your stools. Take a probiotic. Eat light and easily digestible food.
Do follow up with reports!
Thank you so much!!!! So sorry, I neglected to say that I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy on June 28 which didn't show any abnormalities. I guess this all could have begun after that as indicated by the symptoms.
Follow up.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Improperly sterilized colonoscope or endoscope could be a cause of possible infestation of intestines by bacterium like E.coli.
As suggested above a stool test should be done.
Thank you.
