What Could Be Reason For Watery Eyes And Occasionally ?

default
Posted on Tue, 16 Jul 2024
Question: A relative of mine has swelling on the outside underneath the eyes. This has been going on for around one month. At night the puffiness is worse and feels tighter underneath the eyes.

Her eyes water during the night not too much but a bit. There is not much discharge just a little in the corner of her eyes on awakening.

Over the years my relative has had watery eyes and occassionally she has rubbed them. There is no sign of redness.

Brief Answer:
Get some tests done

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I read your query and here is my advice.
The puffiness under eyes is very common in allergies and asthma or to thyroid issues.
I think she may need also to get thyroid checked by doing thyroid hormones levels.
Using antihistamines together with salmeterol and seretide may help with allergies .
Also I think she may need to do something blood tests including a total blood count with formula, creatinine and albumin to creatinine test.
ACR test.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks.
