After Retrieving Needle From Hand Noticed A Small Swelling In That Area

just had a colonoscopy and when they took iv needle out of my hand it puffed up the size of a fifty cent piece and looked like blood under skin. I was already in car when i noticed it. Is this normal and will it go down in a while. It wasa on top of my hand at site of needle injection
