Are Discharges Indicative Of Vaginal Infection?

I was experiencing sensitivity and redness in the entrance to my vagina with very small red lumps (possibly due to dryness). I then experienced thick white discharge. After having intercourse (which was slightly uncomfortable), I then experienced brown discharge. Do I have an infection?
