Are The Small Pimples On Natal Cleft Herpes, Shingles Or Cold Sores?

Hi I am 19 years old and around feb I found myself to have a few small pimples/blisters on natal cleft and then a few days later spread higher to the top of butt crack. I went to various doctors and was diagnosed with shingles. Then less than a few months later i had them again and i went to the doctor and he said doctors have found out now you can have type 1 herpes not just on your face and type 2 on your lips and he said i may just have a normal coldsore on my natal cleft nothing to worry about. Is this correct? as he said it is not on my genital membranes so wouldnt be genital.
