Bleeding, Pain And Stiff Leg After Flesh Injury. Limited Knee Movement. Leg Reacting To Trauma?

Hi, partner has been jabbed by barb wire in the flesh above his knee cap, 9 hours ago. Stab area clearly visible, as the wire length went all the way in, with a little blood . They thought not much of it but now the area is quite painful and his leg is going stiffer. Knee movement limited and the area is very hot, up and down from the point where they were jabbed. Just leg reacting to trauma or something to worry about?
