Can Acanthosis Nigricans Develop In A Child With No Insulin Sensitivity?

is it possible for my 5'9" 135lbs female, 13 year-old to have acanthosis nigracans even if there are no insulin problems. she was diagnosised her entire life with exzema. a nurse at school now says that it is diffenately the former. i kept all skin clear of any signs of disorder, but when she began taking care of her own skin at age nine, she began to experience more skin problems.
