Can Glucophage Treat Irregular Period Caused By PCOD?

hi i am 25 years old my marriage was on 2010 december, my height is 160 cm, 76 kg,i am having irregular periods, when i consult doctor she said i am having polycystic ovaries and ask me to have glucophage tablet 500 mg for one month 2 times a day and also fertab 50 mg 2 times a day from 2nd day of my periods to 5 days. is it possible for me to concieve beacause of this polycystic ovaries.
