Can Leg Numbness Be Due To A Small Meniscus Tear?

i have numbness in my leg, starting from the back of my mid-back of thigh down to my foot, however my knee does not have other symptoms that would indicate a meniscus tear. could this be an indication of a small tear that will heal with time and without surgery?
