Can Lightheadedness Be Associated With Loss Of Blood During Period?

I am 26 years old. I have my period at the moment second day and Im feeling lightheaded like if I would faint and very weak. I usually never feel like this when having periods. Is the lightheartedness associated with the loss of blood? I also changed my diet recently because Im leaving abroad and I tend to eat more vegetables and fruits and hardly any meat. Can this also influence?
