Can Periods Be Regularized Without Novelon?

Hi, I have been taking Novelon from last 1.5 years. I found regularity in my periods but when I stop taking the tabs again the same problem occurs. Is there any permanent solution for this? Also I get headache and irritation often, is it because of Novelon's side effects?
