Can Spinal Curve Be Corrected By Chiropractor?

X-rays show that my spine has developed a curve as a result of age and possibly because of a hip replacement 20 years ago, which left my left leg somewhat shorter than the right. I am 80 years old and I have been told by a chiropractor I know that he can straighten my spine by treatments over a period of time. Is this true?
