Can Taking Contraceptive Pills Delay Periods For The Next Month?

I had my last period on the 14th of June, but I took a contraceptive pill a week before to delay my period. I have not had my period for july as yet and I am worried that I may be pregnant. Could the pill be the reason why I have not seen my period. I also did a pregnancy test and it was negative.
