Could Low Blood Sugar Be Causing Irregular Periods?

Hi i'm a 19 year old female. I first got my period when I was 9. the first few years I was very irregular(continuous periods.) By the time I was 13 it regulated. Usually my cycle would be about 27 days but one day a few months ago it came a week early. I now had a 20 day cycle. I had my period at the very beginning of this month and i'm expecting another one. Lately i haven't been eating much and I have symptoms of low blood sugar. Could this be causing my irregularity?
