Does Hormonal IUD Cause False Test Reading?

Hi! My wife has had a Hormonal IUD in place for a little over a year, since just after our son was born. She began noticing symptoms of being pregnant, so we went and got a test, and sure enough, it is positive. We scheduled an appointment, and will be going to the doctors next week, but they couldn t answer any questions over the phone! Is it possible the IUD cause a false test reading? If not, should we expect complications?
