Does Inflamed, Red, Draining Stitch After Vaginal Hysterectomy Indicate Infection?

I had a laparscopic and vaginal hysterrectomy 5 weeks ago. I was just at my Dr's last Thursday. One of the surgery sites had a stitch protrudung. She said it would grow out. Now 3 days later the whole area is inflamed, red, and draining. It is definitely infected. Should I call my gynocologist or my regular dr?
