How Long Does It Take To Cure Prolonged Periods By Taking Primolut?

I have prolonged periods for about 40 days now this has happened with me for the first time and Iam 32 years old and have started with Primoult n course 7 days back.. still bleeding does not stop ( bledding occurs maily on passing urine most of the time brown/ black in colour ), primoult n course has also increased my mensural cramps which were not so strong earlier. TVS ultraound shows PCOS and ovarian congestion. Iam also experiencing slight pain in left side of lower abdomen may be because of congestion. Plz tell me how much time does primoult n takes to stop periods as in mycase about a week has passed( 3 tables a day) still no relief. Thnx
