How To Conceive?

Husband and I are trying for a baby since March 2009. My period has always been irregular, from two three months once to more than 6months once. and sometimes it seem like it doesnt want to come at all! my last period was in early july2011, had really bad cramps and brownish/maroon discharge for the whole month of november. doc said the shape of my ovaries and uterus are fine but the lining in my uterus is thick...then prescribed norethisterone for 3 cycles. if noresthisterone is a type of contraceptive pill which causes mimicking bleeding to fool my body of producing egg, isn't that against my primary concern of wanting to get pregnant??
