I am a 41-year old white female who has been having issues with chin acne for the past three years. As with most women my age, I also started getting course chin hairs around the bottom of my chin and above my lip. I know this is hormonal, but I tend to be obsessed with plucking these course hairs because they are bothersome and visible to the naked eye if not plucked every other day. Can plucking these hairs lead to boil-type acne around my outer chin area? The acne rarely gets a "head" on it. It becomes a deep, almost dime-sized, painful bump that never really comes to the surface. I have seen my OB-GYN about a really bad outbreak, and he put me on an heavy duty antibiotic that seemed to clear it up for a time, but they tend to come back every month or so, and will last more than 2-3 months before clearing up 100%...actually leaving dimple scars in my face. In addition, when there is extreme stress on a certain day...the next morning a "quarter" will grow under the surface of my skin. I never had acne as a teenager, and my sister, who is 51, has been battling the same problems since her late 30s as well.
I am a healthy 41-year old. Weigh in at about 138lbs. No allergies, no health issues. I am a smoker, however.
