How To Get Relieved From Pain Due To Burst Fracture?

Okay. I am 20 years old and last monday (8 days ago) I broke my back after being thrown from a horse. I have a burst fracture of my l1. I was in the hospital for 3 days. No surgery. I am wearing a brace that I can remove to bath and sleep. I am in hardly any pain. The projected recovery was 6-8 weeks. I can't afford that. Is there any hope that I will back to my normal activities any sooner?
