How To Get Rid Of Mole Above My Left Ear?

I have a mole (I think) in the hairline about 2inches above my left ear. It have felt irritated for the last couple of weeks and scabbed over. About 2. Days it began to bleed and the entire side of my head is very painful. I am a breast cancer survivor (2 times) so anytime something out of the ordinary happens, I can't help thinking the worst. I am amazed at jow painful it is because the mole itself is so small but the area in pain is so much larger. Could this be nothing except for being a hypochondriact?
