How To Get Rid Of The Pain In The Right Side Of The Head And Neck?

Hi, I am a healthy 38 year old female, 5'4" and 165 lbs. I had a cold about three weeks ago and the cough has remained. About a week ago I felt as though I had pulled something in my neck by coughing. The pain has gotten worse since then and now the whole right side of my head and neck is constantly throbbing. Advil lessens the pain but it is still pretty bad. Could I have pulled something by coughing and if so, how can I get rid of the pain?
