How To Identify If There Is A Frenulum Tear?

I believe I tore my frenulum. I went to the ER which were very unhelpful. They placed a strip of dissolving medical tape and told me that I should be better within a week? Now I am unsure of how to clean my penis, if I should be using any poly sporin and if it even is a torn frenulum. They doctors did NOT supply me with any information of what exactly happened and why I bled so much. Please help! Thank you!
