How To Treat Burning Of The Vaginal Area During Periods ?

I'm not sure if I have a uti...I'm on my period and when I go to the bathroom, it burns slightly, and the burning lingers for a little bit after I'm finished and going about my day. Before I started my period yesterday, I was dealing with the burning and just a general feeling of uncomfortableness "down there". Help please?
