Is Faded Skin Color Below The Site Of Steroid Injection In The Knee Permanent?

6 mo ago I received a steroid injection above my knee where the quadriceps attach to the patella. a few months later the shin color faded just below the injection site. I'm am a medium tone African american so it is very noticeable. is this permanent?
