Is Irregular Heavy Bleeding After Removal Of IUD Normal?

i had my iud removed a few months ago after started having irregular heavy bleeing every two weeks like a normal period....now I am on the mini pill and noticed that I still have light bleeding and a strong odor that I have never had before...i also have cramping on one side and seems as though bleeding is more on one side of the tampon...I already had a pap that came back normal. i', 37, 5'3, 140lbs and in good shape.
