Is It Normal To Have Periods Within 5 Weeks Of Having An Abortion?

I had MTP on 17th of July 2012. I stopped bleeding after 8days. The ultrasound was done on 28th of july showed the uterus was clean. I again started bleeding on 1st of August and it continued for 5days. The doctor told me it was normal as people sometimes bleed for 4 weeks after MTP. I again got my periods today 22nd of August, which is almost 5 weeks from the day I had the MTP. Is this O.K?
