Is It Safe To Take Thylidomid For Sweets Syndrome At The Age Of 57?

I currently have Sweets Syndrome. I have been on numerous medications, all of which are not working. I have a serious outbreak. My MD has recommended Thylidomid, which concerns me although I am a 57 year old male and have been married for 34 years. Is it safe to take?
