My husband had a large skin graph put on the back of his thigh fromhis arm on November 22, 2011, and it has turned black and hard like a hockey puck. the dermatologist that performed the surgery last week (Dec.13) said it did not take and had died. She tried to debrid it around the edges, and soak it with saline sulution in the office to no avail. She said to continue to soak it twice a day, until next week. And put him on antibiotics 3 times a day for 10 days as it was infected. It looks red around the edges/inflamed and infected drainage, and it black and very hard. Should we see a wound specialist now, before out follow up appointment in two days?
