Is Medical Intervention Necessary For A Sore And Oozing Mole?

I spotted this mole on my hand, and i'm a bit worried it's not that big and at first i thought it was a small cut, it's sore to touch and oozed the other day, I decided to take a picture of it and i zoomed it to get a better look, its red around the edge and it seems to be a dark brown/red colour, as it is quite small i'd feel quite stupid to go to the doctors and ask about it, but should i go just to be on the safe side?
