Is Spotting Without Pain During Pregnancy Normal?

Hi Sir, My wife is carrying, according to date its 7th week going on. She is having brown coloured spotting, without any pain. Last week as soon as spotting started we did usg test. The impression of report says " no evidence of intrauterine gestational sac. acyst is seen in the right ovary with no evidence of yolk sac/ fetal pole - ovarian cyst. Suggested p repeat pregnancy test and flow up after to rule out ectopic. Now the bleedding or spotting is reduced and and there is no pain. We are waing for test to be done. Please advise. Thanks her age is 26yrs, weight is 56 height is 5'2". she is carrying first time. thank you.
