Is Swelling In Feet After Getting Hit Due To Broken Bone?

I dropped a heavy shelf on the top of the foot yesterday. The pain was very bad, but no mark was there. Then, about 1 hour later, I had to limp to walk. Last night my husband banged it with his foot and it killed. Today I have no pain, but it is swollen. Could it be broke?
