Is Swelling In Thigh With Lipoma Related?

Hi Dr. I am 40 years and suddenly noticed a painless swelling on my right thigh (postero-medial part) about one month ago. I don't know exactly when it has been there. I had sonography and MRI done and both confirmed intermuscular lipoma located between bicep femoris and semitendinosus muscle with no infiltration of the muscles and the bones. It measures 5cm by 7cm. However I use to have occasional arthritic pain on the right leg about 15 years ago which started about 1week ago. Please can the lipoma and the pain be related? What do you advise as the best treatment option?
