Is There Any Side Effect Of Taking 'modus' For Getting Periods?

Hi...i am shivani. i m thallassemia major. i didn't started having periods yet. and i m going to be of 18 in july. my doctor told me to consult endocrine specialist in 2008. then i consulted they told me to wait for some time so that the periods will start naturally. they told me to take tab lynoral 0.01 mg 1/2 tab once a day. after 6 months they told me to take same but 1 tab onmce a day. after other 6 months tehy told me to take same but 1 and a half tab. then aftr 3 months they told last month me to take sme but 2 tab with modus 10mg from 15 to 25 of month. and they said i will start having periods after taking this medicine every month. i didn't started this medicine yet. i have some doubts. is there is some side effect of taking modus10mg??? and is there is some inverse effect of taking this medicine on others parameters of hormones?? intake of this medicine will increase my sugar level,tsh,fsh,etc???????
