Should A Mirena Coil Be Fitted After A Bartholin Gland Cyst Burst?
Three weeks ago I had a bartholin gland cyst burst leaving a hole. I went to my doctor and she told me to leave it and it would heal by itself. Last week I went for the Mirena coil to be fitted. I had noticed that it had become enlarged again and I explained this to him and he replied with "It's ok I would not be going anywhere near it.
It now seems that when he used the Speculum he had burst the cyst and has caused a huge infection. I was hospitalised at the weekend and now is at home recovering.
My question is should he of proceeded with fitting the coil with the cyst that had already burst 3 weeks prior?
Many thanks
