Suffering Form Hair Loss & Breakouts On Skin

I am constanly hungry, have significant hair loss, dry skin, always thirsty, little energy. I get frequent breakouts on my face, back, and chest. I'm 53 year old female. I have an arrythmia I take Tenormin daily. Have for 20 years. I also take spironlactone daily. If I don't take the spironlactone I get even worse edema. I can gain about 10 pounds in a week without it. Everyone in my family is diabetic. 1 sister, 4 brothers, and both parents. I was last checked for diabetes 2 years ago. I get checked every few years. Had thyroid work up a few years ago and fell within normal levels. (Just barely) Over 3 years time I gained 50 pounds, then lost about 45 this past year. I still eat and drink the same I always did. Any suggestions? Forgot to mention I had horrible reflux and an xray showed a hiatal hernia. It doesn't bother me any more although I do have trouble swallowing intermittently. Even my own saliva. Doesn't matter what position I'm in. I suddenly can't complete a swallow. I have to try several times at which time I can't breath and think I may choke to death. I have to remain calm and try again until I can swallow and breath agin. It happens a couple of times a week. Sometimes more than once in a day. I have no medical insurance and am unemployed. Any ideas?
