Suggest Treatment For Acral Erythema Unresolved On Steroids

Hematologist, please advise. Have just been diagnosed with acral erythema with past month which is being treated with topical steroids. However, have since started itching on back of thighs for 1 week and now it has expanded to back of knees and stomach. Steroid prescribed by dermatologist is not helping. Could I stop taking my hydrea and call hematologist on Monday? Past platelet counts which are done monthly have been within normal limits? I am 60, 5' 2", 175 lbs, history of elevated bp on rx, migraines on rx, and essential thrombocythemia on hydrea. allergies to sulfa and agrylin
